2019 Stampede Scleroderma, Stepping Out

Stampeders

Thank you for visiting the Stampeders Team Fundraising page to support the "Stampede Scleroderma, 40th Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" event! This event is being held on June 2nd at the Detroit Zoo.

Since I began working at the Michigan Chapter in 2008 I have seen an increase in the amount of patients being diagnosed every year. We now have over 10,000 scleroderma patients in the state of Michigan and 1 out of 906 Americans are living with scleroderma. Scleroderma has an 85% five-year survival rate.

Steve and I have no direct connection to scleroderma yet we are passionate about the chapter's three-fold mission of support, education and research. The scleroderma community has become our second family and means the world to us.

The Michigan Chapter has such a dedicated team working to stragetically create awareness, educate the medical professionals and community about scleroderma and to fund raise in order to get closer to finding a cure.

I have watched far too many incredible friends, co-workers and board members lose their battles to scleroderma. Every week I receive calls about another family who is grieving a tragic loss. Supporting this event will help us get closer to finding the cure and to supporting the needs of our chapter.

Stampede Scleroderma raises funds so the Michigan Chapter can create the needed patient resources. The funds support our web-based educational experiences that are now reaching across international waters. They reach capacity every webinar and the Michigan Chapter needs to be able to expand our reach so no patient in need of education is turned away due to our limited technological budget.

Patients come first at the Michigan Chapter and we are always striving to increase services and programs to meet the ever growing needs we are seeing.

Steve and I and our family are hoping you will join our team to walk, run or volunteer on June 2nd. If you are unable to be with us making a financial contribution is easy to do on this website and every dollar will make a significant difference and is appreciated.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. To make a donation, click the "Support My Team" button that appears under my photo. Then, just follow the instructions.

If you would like to join our team at the event, and walk and help raise funds, please click on “Join My Team” and follow the directions.

Please help today! Steve and I sincerely appreciate your support, and we ask you to please share this with anyone who you think might want to help.

Help our team bring more awareness to scleroderma so we can find a cure!

Fondly and with appreciation,

Laura Dyas
