Health and safety are our priority

The health and safety of our guests is our biggest priority. Stampede Scleroderma 2021 has implemented new safety measures to ensure your experience is positive, safe and secure.

There will no longer be a 5K or run in Huntington Woods. Check-in areas will be held in smaller tents, hand sanitizer will be available throughout and volunteers will be safely prepared. Every step of the way, we want our guests to know we have thought about how we can make the experience safe and secure for you while still maintaining the same family friendly environment.

Choose your own route inside the zoo!

To keep everyone safe and healthy, we will have fun and unique routes based on the distance you and your team want to travel for your walk through the zoo. Want to go less than a mile? We have that mapped out for you! Want to take a mile-long adventure? No problem! For those of you looking for longer distances, we will have fun routes created to maximize your steps. No matter what your physical ability may be, you will find a detailed map that will include fun things you can see along the way.

Help us reach and exceed our fundraising goal of $150,000!

This year, we’re asking that every team consider raising a minimum of $250 and asking each of their team members to do the same. Our top team leaders raise on average $2,000 every year. If every team that registered also raised $2,000 (or more), we would exceed our fundraising goal. Every dollar will support the three-fold mission of support, education and research. Together, in 2021, let us see if we can work toward the goal of having all teams raise funds. Think of the impact those dollars would make!

Donations will be accepted through July 31, 2021.

Create custom, fun team t-shirts!

We appreciate our team leaders, our team members and their fundraising efforts. This year, we will be hosting a team t-shirt making contest where we will vote on the most creative design. All registrants will still receive an official event t-shirt if you register before May 7.

Why are there changes to the 2021 event?

Removing the 5K and walk around Huntington Woods allows us to ensure the scleroderma patient population can be kept healthy and safe during the event. The walk and run start and finish lines kept large groups of people in a small, confined space. We want to keep those at high-risk feeling safe at Stampede moving forward.

We understand that change is challenging, but we are confident that you’ll agree that the needs of those living with scleroderma come first. This is a fundraising event, a place for those affected by scleroderma to come and be educated, gain support, have FUN and enjoy a day at the zoo while raising funds to benefit the scleroderma community.

Important dates for the event: June 3, 2021 - Online registration closes at midnight May 7, 2021 - Last day for guaranteed t-shirt sizing

Helpful Event Tips

  • Donating and registering are different registration includes a donation, a T-shirt, and Zoo ticket, while donating is simply gifting funds to the Michigan Chapter.
    • You MUST register and pay the registration fee to obtain a zoo ticket. There are no exceptions to this rule.
  • Donations made online cannot be changed into registrations.
