Raising Hope for Scleroderma
I will be running the 2019 San Francisco Marathon on July 28, 2019 to raise awareness and gain support for those whose lives have been affected by Scleroderma. Scleroderma is a chronic connective tissue disease classified in the autoimmune rheumatic diseases. This disease has potential to affect all connective tissue in the body, and often the most painful and limiting symptoms are constant sensations of burning/itching and hardening of the skin.
Unfortunately, my mom was diagnosed with this rare and serious autoimmune disease in 2007. My mom has been my hero since day one, but as she faces the many obstacles of Scleroderma she has undoubtedly become many peoples' hero and insipration. Her positive attitude and selflessness to help others has encouraged me to pursue my career in Occupational Therapy and ultimately led me to the SF Marathon.
Any donation will bring us a step (or many steps in my case) closer to a cure!
All contributions through this website are secured and directly sent to the Scleroderma Foundation. Feel free to send this along to others you may feel are interested!
