2017 Stepping Out - Nashville, TN (Tennessee Chapter)

Donna's Team 2001

Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page to support the "Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" event this year! DONNA'S TEAM!

Donating through this site is fast and secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to support me and help raise funds for scleroderma patients. As many of you know, or even if you don't, my mom Donna Zorici passed away October 18th, 2001 from Scleroderma.. she fought. I grew up wondering exactly what it was, or even how to pronounce it.. I'm sure your exact thoughts right now are "Sclero-WHAT?" So a little background information, Scleroderma or "systemic sclerosis, is a chronic connective tissue disease generally classified as one of the autoimmune rheumatic diseases. The word “scleroderma” comes from two Greek words: “sclero” meaning hard, and “derma” meaning skin. Hardening of the skin is one of the most visible manifestations of the disease. The disease has been called “progressive systemic sclerosis,” but the use of that term has been discouraged since it has been found that scleroderma is not necessarily progressive. The disease varies from patient-to-patient." I wish every single year going to these walks that she could be one of those surviving patients still battling.. Yes, it does hurt and fills my heart with indescribable feelings. I wouldn't want any others experiencing what my family and I did, and I hope my fundraising page will bring us one step closer for all of the patients and families fighting. EVERY single donation helps, not only for the Scleroderma patients and loved ones awaiting a cure, but it also gives me strength and comfort knowing people are aware of this disease. And most importantly, that my mom is never forgotten.

Thank you so much for your contributes and/or visiting my page.

& Feel free to register for the walk as well!!!! Donnas Team 2001 Nashville, TN Scleroderma Walk 2017!
