It has been one year since the last walk and our family has been through a lot of ups and downs. Shortly after the last walk heaven gained another hero, Grandpa/Papa Ben joined you in heaven. Although his passing was extremely difficult on our end, we felt at ease that the you guys were back together again. I am assuming and my hopes are you guys are spending time at the Lake Metegoshi and on the golf course working on your slice. "Keep your eye on the ball". In October your youngest, Laura, married her main man Jake Samuelson. I wish you could have met Jake, because he is a heck of a guy. I can see you guys sitting at the kitchen table playing cribbage, I am assuming you would find some funny nickname for Jake and many laughs would be had, probably at the expense of Laura. It was a beautiful wedding, Mom walked Laura down the aisle and I know you were on Laura's otherside. Thank you for that. We lost another hero in December, Bella. Bella is greatly missed but we know you are taking great care of her and giving her rides in the old jeep and running her at the fair grounds. We gained two more doodles this winter Fred and Ramsey, very very "good good" dogs! Your grandkids are growing almost 4 and almost 6. Ben is a spitting image of you and makes my heart happy when he gives me a certain look or clenches his teeth. He is starting tee ball, don't worry, I am teaching him how to HUSTLE. Brea is marching to the beat of her own drum and is a total Daddy's girl just like Laura was with you. Recently, The Nelson clan made a trip to the lake to take Grandpa home to Bottineau. It was a wonderful weekend full of laughs, tears and teasing. Even though you are not with us physically I feel your presence every day. Thank you for watching out for the family, I love and miss you every day.

This is the 15th year of the Omaha Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Walk. This is a great way to support the Scleroderma Foundation's fight to find the cure. The Heartland Chapter has lost members this year to Scleroderma, the Nelson family has their family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

I Fought the Good Fight

I Finished the Race

I Kept the Faith

Thank you for your support!
