2017 Stepping Out Hiking and Hotcakes - Lilburn (Georgia Chapter)

Team Deborah

Dear Scleroderma Supporter,

Thank you for visiting Team Deborah's fundraising page to support the "Hiking and Hotcakes: Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" event!

Team Deborah was established in honor of Deborah Ford, who courageously fought systemic scleroderma for over a decade until her battle with the disease ended in February 2016. Deborah was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a dedicated educator and mentor to hundreds of students throughout her thirty-year career.

Deborah was also active in the scleroderma community, constantly encouraging and uplifting other scleroderma patients and spreading positivity, even as her health continued to decline. It was not uncommon to see Deborah at support group meetings, smiling and saying, "I may have scleroderma, but scleroderma doesn't have me!" She was very supportive of scleroderma research efforts and participated in several studies, always faithful and hopeful that one day a medical breakthrough would ease or even eliminate the suffering of scleroderma patients.

In the spirit of Ms. Ford's hopefulness, Team Deborah aims to raise a total of $3000.00 for scleroderma research by the day of the race, June 10, 2017. We also seek to raise as much awareness as possible for Scleroderma and other chronic illnesses.

There are a variety of ways you can help us with these goals:

1. Join Team Deborah to walk/run at the event (or be a phantom walker) and help us raise funds! Just click "Join Team" and follow the directions. You'll get a Scleroderma Foundation t-shirt, and a Team Deborah t-shirt to wear to the race, too!

2. You may donate to our team's efforts to raise funds for people living with scleroderma. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution. Remember that 100 percent of your donation goes to scleroderma research! To make a donation, click on one of our team members in the team roster to check out their page and make a gift towards their fundraising effort to help our team.

3. Share this page with family and friends or anyone you think may want to help us spread awareness and raise funds!

Help our team bring more awareness to scleroderma so we can find a cure!

Sincerely,

DeJuana Ford

Team Captain
