Tierra Springer-2015 June Awareness

"Hard Word. Harder Disease." is the Theme for June Awareness Month

Scleroderma is a hard word to pronounce and an even harder disease to be diagnosed with.  Join the Scleroderma Foundation, the Scleroderma Research Foundation and the Scleroderma Society of Canada to spread awareness during the month of June. It's easy! Just visit and pledge to tell one person about scleroderma, then head to social media to help spread the word.

At the Chapter level we are celebrating June Awareness Month by "Stepping Out" on June 20 (see below). Mayor Michael B. Hancock has issued a Proclamation declaring June 2015 as Scleroderma Awareness Month in the City and County of Denver.

Let's make a difference this month - one person at a time.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, local chefs will take each other on in a friendly competition to raise money and awareness of scleroderma. Chefs will prepare appetizers, bite-size entrees and desserts for you to taste. Chefs will be judged by a local celebrity and by your votes.  Stay tuned for more to come about this new event but, for now, be sure to save the date and like and follow our Food Fight! Facebook page at  Learn more about how your restaurant or business can be a sponsor:  Chef Application, Cash Sponsorship, In-Kind and Auction Donations.  For more information about sponsorships, please contact Alison Oyler-Mitsch at or 720-849-3923.

2015 Patient Education Day

Save the date!  Our 5th Annual Patient Education Day is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2015. We are currently working on the agenda and speakers and will make further announcements as the plans develop.

Volunteers Needed!

Want to meet some new people, learn some new skills and help those living with scleroderma? Then get involved today by joining one of our fundraising committees for our 2015 Stepping Out Walks or new event "Food Fight".  We need committee members to help with the fun of organizing these events and making them a success.  Click here to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
