Chapter Support Group Meetings
Chapter support group meetings are held regularly in Denver, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction and Loveland. Scleroderma patients, their caregivers, family and friends are welcome. Meetings are educational and a great opportunity to meet others living with scleroderma who understand what you are going through. You are not alone.
"You Don't Look Sick!" - When Public Opinion Goes Wrong
Living with scleroderma, you have probably heard more than once "but you don't look sick". Many people do not understand the pain and challenges you go through on a daily basis while struggling to live with scleroderma. Denver support group leader Sandee Billen Maas, who has had scleroderma since 2011, is hoping to change this public opinion when she speaks out at IgniteDenver23 on Thursday, June 30 at 7:00 pm at the Oriental Theatre in Denver. Come and give Sandee your support! Click here to purchase your $5.00 tickets!
Carrabba's Cares Days
Celebrate World Scleroderma Day on Wednesday, June 29 at Carrabba's in Lakewood. Enjoy a tasty meal, relax with friends over a glass of wine or get takeout to surprise the family for dinner and Carrabba's will donate 15% of your check to the Scleroderma Foundation when you present the Carrabba's Cares Days flyer to your server.
Sedalia Designs Supports Scleroderma
If you missed Marcy Shoenborn's creative jewelry designs at the "Stepping Out" Walk on June 18, you can purchase her unique jewelry at my.sedaliadesigns.com/SF. Marcy and Sedalia Designs will donate a portion of your purchase to the Scleroderma Foundation. Marcy also created special footprint earrings just for the Stepping Out Walk that you can still get by contacting our Chapter office at email@example.com or 303-806-6686. They'll go great with your Stepping Out t-shirt when you wear it to promote scleroderma awareness!
Scleroderma Awareness Month
June is Scleroderma Awareness Month and for the 3rd year in a row, the Scleroderma Foundation has joined forces with the Scleroderma Research Foundation and the Scleroderma Society of Canada to spread awareness primarily on social media through it's "Hard Word. Harder Disease." campaign. We can all help spread the word! Learn more at www.hardword.org. Follow, like and share our posts and tweets on Facebook and Twitter throughout the month of June.
"Food Fight! Chefs Fighting for a Hard Disease" on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at BAC Appliance Center in Englewood, features local chefs creating their favorite dishes in the categories of appetizer, main course and dessert. You get to be the judge of who creates the best taste. This year we've added a mixologist category to the competition too. But it's not just the chefs and mixologists competing - you'll get to stay on top of the bidding on your favorite auction items with up to the minute texts when you've been outbid so you can stay in the competition too! Learn more about this foodie event of the year and get your tickets today at www.cheffoodfight.com.
