CASE STUDY #3

Frank Arnett, M.D., Professor and Director of the Division of Rheumatology, University of Texas/Houston Medical CenterFrank Arnett, M.D., Professor and Director of the Division of Rheumatology, University of Texas/Houston Medical Center. "The Scleroderma Foundation has an outstanding research program which has gotten many investigators, older and newer, into the field of scleroderma research. Not only is the Foundation's program yielding new information about what causes scleroderma, it is spurring agencies like NIH to increase their support of research into this disease.

After receiving smaller grants from the Scleroderma Foundation, Dr. Arnett won approval from NIH for a $3.5 million grant establishing a SCOR Specialized Center of Research in scleroderma.
