Volunteers to Visit Capitol Hill on October 7 and 8
A group of Scleroderma Foundation volunteer advocates will make office visits to members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., Oct 7–8 to urge them to become co-sponsors of two scleroderma-specific bills, H.R. 2408 and S. 1545. These face-to-face meetings are the most powerful tool we have to garner the support we need from elected officials.
In addition to the office meetings, the Foundation will sponsor a congressional luncheon briefing to be held in the Library of Congress. The luncheon will provide an opportunity to learn more about scleroderma and legislation designed to expand federal research and awareness activities about scleroderma.
