Selling an Item or Just Shopping?
You
can help the Scleroderma Foundation by visiting www.ebaygivingworks.com whenever you shop or sell!
How it works:
- Shopping: "Search" items
for sale which will benefit the Scleroderma Foundation
first when you visit eBay.
- Selling: Sell your items on eBay
and designate all or a portion of your sale proceeds
to the Scleroderma Foundation. Your tax-deductible
donation will be acknowledged with a tax receipt when
the item sells. How to sell:
- Register and set up an account on eBay.
- Register on Mission Fish* and complete the user agreement to access the Giving
Assistant.
- Create an eBay "Giving Works" listing
by using the Giving Assistant on MissionFish. Select
a nonprofit from the list of pre-approved 501(c)3
organizations, designate a percentage of sales proceeds
to donate, and list your item for sale.
The nonprofit has up to one business day to approve
or reject their association with your listing. Once
approved, the item is listed on eBay where it appears
with regular listings but is distinguished by an eBay
Giving Works icon.
- After your item sells, you collect payment directly
from the buyer and ship the item.
- MissionFish collects your donation, forwards your
gift to the nonprofit (less a small processing fee),
and issues you a tax receipt.
* MissionFish
is a subsidiary of eBay charged with verifying each
charity’s non-profit status and processing
donations.
Have a pre-summer "on-line" yard sale to
clear out the old and make room for the new. Get a jump
on spring cleaning and help others too! Gather items
from friends and family to add to your sale.
