Team Rensi Motorsports Signs Boris Said for Nationwide Series International Events
Boris Said takes over as pilot of the No. 25 "No Fear Energy / Advance Auto Parts Ford Fusion" for the two NASCAR Nationwide Series international races in Mexico City (April 20) and Montreal (Aug. 2). For the race this coming Sunday, April 20, Bobby will surrender his seat for on the road course at the Corona Mexico 200 in Mexico City. Said, 45, has competed in motorsports events throughout the world and in recent years has found great success running in a limited number of NASCAR races. He is considered to be one of the top international road-racers. The Race, which is being held at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, can be seen on ESPN on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. EST. Said has run all three Nationwide Series events in Mexico, recording three top-five finishes with one pole. He also competed in the inaugural Montreal race, starting fourth and finishing 28th last summer.
Most of the history of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez (the Mexico City race course) comes from Formula One racing. In fact, it was the success of a Mexican-born Formula One racer, Ricardo Rodriguez, that hastened the track's creation. In August 2004, NASCAR announced the track would host a Busch Series event, beginning in 2005. "Mexico has a long tradition in motorsports, and we are thrilled that NASCAR is now part of it," said NASCAR chairman/CEO Brian France. "Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is a beautiful track that provides our NASCAR Busch Series teams the opportunity to perform on an international stage."
Boris’ fans are called "Said Heads" due to his unorthodox hair style. So become a "Said Head" and tune in to ESPN this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. EST. Check the local listings for the time in your area.
