While Everything in Texas Is Bigger, It May Not Be Faster

The Texas Motor Speedway, which was recently resurfaced, is the second fastest track on the NASCAR circuit. Only Atlanta is faster. Unfortunately, after starting in the 17th position, Bobby Hamilton had a relatively quiet day, finishing 23rd. Despite the disappointing finish, he remains 12th in the overall driver point standings.

In his seventh Nationwide Series start of the season, Kyle Busch finally got a result befitting his performance. Entering Saturday's O'Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway, Busch had led a series-best 345 laps without a win. After finishing second to Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Tony Stewart in the first two races of the season, a series of mishaps had blocked the Toyota driver's path to Victory Lane.  Nine of the ten top finishers in the O’Reilly 300 were full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series moves to Phoenix for the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 on Friday, April 11 at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Check your local listings for the time in your area and be sure to root Bobby on to a top-ten finish.
