Hamilton, Jr. Buys into Sadler Racing

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  Earl Sadler gave Bobby Hamilton, Jr. his first opportunity to drive a NASCAR Nationwide car in 1998. Ten years later Hamilton has joined Sadler’s racing team again—as a co-owner. Hamilton said he has purchased 50 percent of the team, which will now be Sadler Hamilton Racing.

Following its debut in the season opener at Daytona (a 29th finish), Sadler Hamilton Racing plans on running the No. 95 car in a limited 2008 schedule. Besides races at Nashville and Daytona, current plans include races at Memphis and Talladega, along with the Nashville ARCA and Camping World events.

"My goal this year is to run four or five Nationwide races with Willie Allen as our driver," Hamilton said. "I sat down with our crew chief, Danny Gill, and looked at available drivers and Willie was a great fit for our project (Willie was the 2007 Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year). Next year, we hope to run 15–25 Nationwide races and a full Camping World East schedule."

"It is an honor to drive for Sadler-Hamilton Racing," Allen said. "The team has such a great history in NASCAR. Earl Sadler and Bobby Hamilton, Jr. are very passionate about the sport and very competitive. It is going to be a lot of fun driving in my hometown of Nashville. I am very excited and thrilled to have this great opportunity."

Following last week’s break, the NASCAR Nationwide Series resumes action. Be sure to look for our driver Bobby Hamilton, Jr. and the Team Rensi Motorsports/Smithfield No 25 Ford Fusion at the Texas Motor Speedway for the O’Reilly 300 on Saturday, April 5. Let’s root Bobby on to another top-ten finish. Check your local listings for the time in your area.
