Bobby Hamilton Jr. Finishes 18th at Michigan
Bobby Hamilton Jr. and the Team Rensi Motorsports/Eckrich #25 Ford Fusion finished 18th in the Carfax 250 held at Michigan International Speedway this past Saturday. Bobby had hoped to finish higher but the Sprint Cup Series drivers had the faster cars this day. However Bobby did finish on the lead lap and the 109 points earned kept him safely in the fifteenth spot in the Nationwide Series Drivers Point Standings.
Pole-sitter Carl Edwards gave Roush Fenway Racing its first Nationwide Series victory at the 2-mile track since 1998. It was Ford's first Michigan win in the series since Ryan Newman took the checkered flag in 2001. "I'm so happy we won this thing," said Edwards, who won his third Nationwide race of the season, all since Drew Blickensderfer replaced Pierre Kuettel as crew chief in late June. "We've been so close before. It feels good to put a Ford here in Victory Lane."
Be sure to watch Bobby and the entire team this Saturday, August 22nd as they move to Tennessee to compete in the Food City 250 at the famed Bristol Speedway, affectionately known as ‘The World’s Fastest Half Mile Track’. The action begins on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m., EST. Check your local listings for the broadcast time in your area. |
