Bobby Hamilton Jr. Settles for a Fifteenth Place Finish
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. qualified 23rd in the Team Rensi Motorsport/John Morrell #25 Ford Fusion in the Winn Dixie 250 at Daytona and finished the race in the 15th position. The results kept Bobby 15th in the Drivers’ Points Standings.
Despite the finish, Bobby enjoyed the race. “You really have to work hard at Daytona. There’s a lot of strategy involved and if you have a really fast car and can stay near the front, you can avoid the problems. It’s a slick track in July and there’s no grip. You can’t dig in with the Nationwide cars like you can with the Cup cars with their aerodynamic package. If a race fan doesn’t enjoy Daytona with cars going 200 mph, three and four wide, then they should start watching golf.”
Next Friday, July 11th, The Nationwide Series moves to the Chicagoland Speedway for the Dollar General 300 powered by Coca-Cola. Be sure to watch Bobby and the Team Rensi Motorsport/Smithfield #25 Ford Fusion on ESPN at 7:30 p.m., EST. Check your local listings for the time in your area. |
