Off and Running
Scleroderma Striders program provides another way
to raise money.
They are from Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida and Texas—all
grouped together for a common cause: to raise money
for the Scleroderma Foundation.
The “they” are runners, both disease-free
and not, who are participants in the Scleroderma Striders
fund-raising program. Though the temperature in most
places in the country is closer to freezing than tropical
now, there are still a few places where a good walk
or run can be had.
Through www.firstgiving.com,
both people living with scleroderma, and friends and
family members of those with the disease, are walking
or running in half marathons and 26.2 mile variety,
raising money through online pledges. (Participants
can raise money offline as well). Of course, all donations
are tax deductible.
