Sjögren’s Syndrome Seminar
to be Held June 10 in New York City
The Sjögren's Syndrome Foundation, the recognized
advocate for Sjögren’s syndrome, will have
a seminar on Saturday, June 10 at the Holiday Inn Midtown—57th
Street Hotel, New York City.
The conference begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.
A welcome reception will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
on Friday, June 9.
Sjögren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease
in which the body’s immune system mistakenly targets
its own moisture-producing glands, is one of the most
prevalent autoimmune disorders, affecting as many as
four million Americans.
The SSF has arranged for some of the country’s
leading medical and dental experts to help attendees
learn how to cope with Sjögren’s and explain
what the future holds for Sjögren’s research
and treatment.
The New York City seminar is another in a series of
SSF seminars that offer the opportunity to meet other
members of the Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation
and to learn what medicines offer the best relief, successful
coping strategies, and more.
Each seminar includes an exhibit area where pharmaceutical
companies and manufacturers of other aids can help attendees
learn about the newest treatments. Expert physicians
present on a variety of topics of interest to Sjögren’s
patients, and the seminar schedule offers time for these
experts to answer questions.
