Golfer, Scleroderma Patient Bobbi Salmon on Golf Channel
Tonight and Sunday
Professional golfer Bobbi Salmon, a person living with
scleroderma who was featured in the Foundation’s
public service announcment “Because I Believe
Nothing is Impossible,” will be featured in a
news segment tonight and Sunday night on the Golf Channel.
The segments will air at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday broadcast
will be a repeat of the Friday broadcast.
Salmon, who plays on the Legends Tour, has played in
major golf tournaments throughout the world. A resident
of Florida, she has spent much of her working life as
a teaching professional. A softball and volleyball player
in college, Salmon taught herself how to play the game.
In 2004, Salmon, after years of not feeling well, was
finally diagnosed with systemic scleroderma. Along with
her manager Marten Piccinini, Salmon has been working
hard since to raise awareness of the disease. The Foundation’s
logo is featured on her golfbag, and Salmon is now selling
a salmon-colored, salmon-shaped headcover featuring
a tag that describes scleroderma and the Foundation.
