New Website an Educational Tool for Healthcare Providers, PAH Patients

PAH-Info.com logo

A new website has been developed as an educational resource for healthcare providers and persons with pulmonary arterial hypertension, a condition for some patients who have scleroderma. The website (www.PAH-info.com) attempts to answer such questions as: What is PAH?, how common is PAH?, why does PAH develop?, what are the symptoms of PAH?, how is PAH diagnosed, and how is PAH treated.

PAH is a disease of the arteries connecting the lungs to the heart. As PAH develops, blood flow through the pulmonary arteries is restricted and the right side of the heart is put under increasing strain to pump blood through to the lungs. This leads to the main symptoms of PAH: breathlessness, chest tightness, limited exercise capacity and fatigue.

The website was developed by Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
