Scleroderma Foundation National Conference Keynote Speakers

Opening Speaker: Cindy Coney, M.Ed.
Closing Speaker:
Mary Ann O'Neil, M.Ed.

Cindy Coney, MEd, returns as our opening Keynote Speaker. At our 2008 conference, she opened with a message titled, "Things Will Be Okay." Cindy spoke about life-altering changes in our lives—specifically those that force us to adapt quickly—and the ways in which we can handle such changes with strength, hope, and optimism. Everyone was uplifted!

Coney is a nationally recognized speaker and educator, and is the secretary of the Board of Directors for the Lupus Foundation of America. She was diagnosed with lupus in 1980, and is the author of "The Wild Woman's Guide to Living with Chronic Illness." Cindy is a compelling speaker who combines knowledge, humor, and the ability to laugh at herself. She is the president of Monarch Training and Consulting in Tampa, Florida.

Mary Ann O’Neil, M.Ed., is a person living with scleroderma and a member of the Scleroderma Foundation Board of Directors. A former early education teacher, O’Neil subsequently owned and operated a school for children through Grade 3. In 1983, O’Neil became a management consultant and leadership development trainer, designing workshops designed to be both fun and valuable. Among her clients were Texaco, McDonald’s and Xerox. O’Neil now works with one of her children in an executive coaching firm while continuing to design and deliver workshops.
