Thomas A. Medsger, Jr., M.D. is world-recognized for scleroderma research and has made significant contributions to our understanding of the epidemiology, clinical and laboratory features and natural history of the disease. The director of the scleroderma research program and professor of rheumatology and clinical immunology at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Medsger received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
