About Vanessa MalcarneVanessa Malcarne, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Psychology, College of Sciences at San Diego State University. Her research interests include adjustment to chronic illness in children and adults; beliefs about physical and mental illness; measurement of ethnic identity and acculturation; and ethnicity and psychopathology. In recent years, she completed several studies on children's cognitions about physical and mental illness, as well as children's adjustment to serious illness. She is currently analyzing a data set on Nepalese children's concepts of illness, and co-writing a review with one of her former students. |
