Studies Status
THE DETECT STUDY: "A Two-Stage Prospective Observational Cohort Study to Evaluate Screening Tests and the Incidence of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension / Pulmonary Hypertension (PAH and PH)". This study requires that the patient be diagnosed with SSc > 3 years and have a DLCO < 60% with FV>40%. The study requires a Right Heart Catheterization as this is the gold
standard for the diagnosis of PAH/PH. (IRB # 0807M39661)
Active
PHAROS: This study is to identify patients at the highest risk for the development of PAH in the future to determine if early intervention will prevent or delay the irreversible disease. (IRB # 0710M18661) Active
The DISTOL-1 STUDY, a phase II randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to assess the efficacy of treprostinil diethanolamine in reducing the digital ulcer burden compared to placebo in patients with SSc. In addition to evaluating the prevention and/or formation of new ischemic digital ulcers, will be the assessment of the reduction in total active ulcers, reduction in pain and the assessment of patient function. (IRB # 0812M54822) Active
The G-WAS SCLERODERMA REGISTRY, funded by NIH: "A Two-Stage Genome-Wide Association Study in Systemic Sclerosis. This primarily involves one appointment which allows us to gather patient medical history information related to their SSc, and one blood draw. There is no clinical examination. The data and specimen collection will allow for study of specific genes as they relate to scleroderma and potentially other autoimmune diseases. (IRB # 0812M55641) Active
