Board Chair, Joseph Camerino, Ph.D.
Joseph P. Camerino, Ph.D., of Baldwinsville, N.Y. is chair
of the board for the Scleroderma Foundation. His two-year
term began Jan. 1, 2006.
Dr. Camerino is the District Superintendent/Executive Officer
for the Oswego County Board of Cooperative Educational Services.
In this position he oversees all Oswego BOCES programs. He
supports the educational needs of some 25,000 students and
leads an organization of 800 employees.
Prior to his appointment at Oswego BOCES, Dr. Camerino was
the assistant superintendent for administrative services at
the Liverpool (N.Y.) Central School District. While at Liverpool,
he managed the district’s $100 million budget and supervised
the instructional support services, including the business
office, maintenance, transportation and food service. Dr.
Camerino has worked as a state aid planning specialist, where
he prepared, coordinated, and presented workshops for some
225 school districts and their superintendents, school business
officials and boards of education.
Dr. Camerino is past president of the New York State Association
of School Business Officials. He has served on the board of
the directors of that organization since 1997. He is also
a group leader for Sunshine Friends, a group that brings pets
to local nursing homes and hospitals.
His association with the Scleroderma Foundation dates back
to 2003 when he was elected as a board member. Prior to being
elected board chair, Dr. Camerino served the board as its
treasurer.
