Scleroderma isn’t the “black box” disease it once was, thanks to a better understanding of how it progresses and an appreciation of how individualized it is in each patient, said Dr. Philip J. Clements, a rheumatologist and scleroderma specialist at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.
