Photo of the Week

Piedmont Area Support Group, Rock Hill, S.C. – During their last group meeting Dr. David Burack listened intently to Tiffany Garner (youngest member—13 years) who was reading a paper she did at school on scleroderma and how it has affected her health. Of course, she got an excellent grade. Tiffany's mother, Denise, is beside her. |

Invest in Hope! The 10th Anniversary Campaign for Research
2008 marks the 10th anniversary of the Scleroderma Foundation. As we commemorate this milestone and look to the future, we imagine a world free of scleroderma. This is the greatest hope of those whose lives have been touched by this disease.
Inherent in each Scleroderma Foundation research grant is the hope that our funds will make a significant difference to a researcher whose investigations may lead to the cure. |

Can exercise influence your genetic age?
Maybe, according to a new study by researchers at King’s College London, in the United Kingdom. Previous research showed that regular exercise can help prevent diseases associated with aging – such as heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer and osteoporosis. The new study finds it even may slow down the aging process itself. |

Bobby Hamilton Jr. and the Team Rensi Motorsports/Smithfield #25 Ford Fusion move on to Bristol, Tennessee Friday evening, August 22nd for the Food City 250.
Bristol Motor Speedway is so short that speeds here are far lower than is typical on most NASCAR oval tracks, but very fast compared to other short tracks due to the high banking, making for a considerable amount of "swapping paint." Also the initial starting grid of 43 vehicles extends almost halfway around the track, meaning that the slower-qualifying cars begin the race almost half a lap down. |
