The FIT formula – Frequency, Intensity and Time – helps you find out.
Deciding to become a little more active than you are right now leads to improvements in your health and outlook on life as well as to reductions in pain. Walking is the easiest activity to increase, since you already do it throughout the day. But how much more should you do? How often should you do it? How fast should you go? For how long? |

Morphea is a skin condition that causes reddish or purplish patches on your skin. The condition typically appears on your torso, arms and legs. Morphea occurs in all age groups and both sexes, but generally affects women more than men.
Morphea is a localized form of scleroderma, a condition that can cause a wide variety of problems, from skin discoloration to internal organ damage. Morphea tends to affect only the outermost layers of your skin, with no damage to internal organs. Sometimes, morphea can restrict movement in your joints. |

On Wednesday, October 3, 2007, the United States Senate passed the fiscal year (FY) 2008 Department of Defense (DoD) Appropriations bill (H.R.3222) by voice vote. Included in the Senate-passed version of H.R. 3222 is $50 million dollars for the DoD Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program. This program funds important research on conditions that affect military personnel. Congress must explicitly recognize a condition before it is eligible for funding through the DoD Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program. Although scleroderma research has been conducted through this program in the past, presently scleroderma is not recognized on the Senate’s list of conditions eligible for funding that accompanies the $50 million allocation.
