Eric
and Sharon Langshur’s infant son, born without a left
ventricle in his heart, faced an ongoing, day-to-day struggle
from the day he was born. At just 18 months of age, he and
his family had already been through the physical and emotional
strains of three open-heart surgeries.
The
Langshurs, exhausted and constantly in and out of hospitals,
needed a way to keep in touch with their family, friends and
loved ones, not only to keep them updated on their son’s
progress, but also to receive much-needed feedback and support.
Their
solution was to set up a Web site, which they named CarePages.com-a
page that, seven years later, has become thousands of pages
that shower patients nationwide with compassion and support.
