Sjögren’s Syndrome

Sjögren's (SHOW-grins) syndrome is an autoimmune disease that attacks the exocrine glands (i.e., moisture-producing glands) of the body, specifically the lacrimal and salivary glands. It is classified among such diseases as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and multiple sclerosis.

Bosentan—Tracleer—Receives Positive EU Opinion for Reduction of New Digital Ulcerations in Systemic Sclerosis Patients

ALLSCHWIL, Switzerland, March 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) (PRIMEZONE)—Actelion Ltd (SWX:ATLN) announced today that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP), the scientific committee of the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), has issued a positive opinion on bosentan (Tracleer(r)) to extend the use of this dual endothelin receptor antagonist beyond Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
