Congress Introduces Resolution to Designate May 2007 National Autoimmune Diseases Awareness Month

DETROIT, March 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Legislation has been introduced by Congress to name May National Autoimmune Diseases Awareness Month (ADAM) in order to call increased attention to a family of diseases that are still not well-known or well-understood by the medical and research communities and the general public at large.

AHA Statement Recommends Doctors Change Approach

American Heart Association Scientific Statement

Many doctors should change the way they prescribe pain relievers for chronic pain in patients with or at risk for heart disease based on accumulated evidence that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), with the exception of aspirin, increase risk for heart attack and stroke, according to an American Heart Association statement published today in Circulation: "Journal of the American Heart Association."

Tissue Doppler Aids Pulmonary Hypertension Assessment

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Mar 09 – Tissue Doppler imaging has a number of useful applications in the clinical evaluation of patients with pulmonary hypertension, according to Texas-based researchers.

Watch David Gilliland Race!

Scleroderma Foundation racing partner David Gilliland will be racing tomorrow in the Busch Series Sharpie Mini 300 at the famed Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. The race starts at 2:30 p.m. and will be on ABC. Last week, Gilliland, driving the No. 25 car, finished 32nd in Atlanta.
