For the second consecutive year, the Scleroderma Foundation will be an associate sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series campaign. This year, however, the Foundation will team up with Team Rensi/FreeCreditReport.com, and the No. 25 Ford racecar driven by David Gilliland and Richard Johns. Last year, the Foundation partnered with ppc Racing and driver Kenny Wallace.

Rice University Breakthrough Could Prevent Multiple Fibrotic Diseases

Tests find protein stops fibrosis in lung, heart, other tissues

HOUSTON, Jan. 18, 2007 -- A scientific breakthrough at Rice University could lead to the first treatment that prevents the build-up of deadly scar tissue in a broad class of diseases that account for an estimated 45 percent of U.S. deaths each year.
