Doctor says newly diagnosed scleroderma patients should avoid pregnancy for three years

Despite such uncertainties, doctors who have studied arthritis during pregnancy and pregnancy during arthritis have found some common problems shared by women at certain stages of pregnancy and with certain forms of arthritis and related diseases. They have also made findings that should ease fears and reassure couples who long for a baby, as well as those who find they are unexpectedly expecting one.

Researchers Find New Way to Measure Heart Function of Pulmonary Hypertension Patients

Researchers have developed a simple, noninvasive way to measure right ventricular function in the heart to predict survival of adults who suffer from pulmonary hypertension.

Studies of Inhaled Iloprost in Children With Pulmonary Hypertension Yield Mixed Results

The prostaglandin iloprost, delivered via inhalation (Ventavis), appears to be safe and well tolerated in children with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), but evidence presented here this week raises a possible adverse effect on lung function in this population.

Scleroderma awareness comes to Tennessee, Sat., Nov. 4. Please be sure to watch for the Scleroderma Foundation’s logo on the #22 car of our awareness partner—Kenny Wallace—as he races in the O'Reilly Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.

This race will air on TNT and PRN radio networks. The race will air at 2 p.m. eastern. Support Kenny and help spread scleroderma awareness.

At the Oct. 28th race in Memphis, Kenny finished 14th.
