for the Stars" 2007 National Gala

The Scleroderma Foundation’s
National Office and the Tri-State Chapter will
kick off the holiday season this year with the
second "Swing for the Stars" gala, which
will be held Thursday evening, November 29, 2007
at the Grand
Hyatt Hotel in mid-town Manhattan. This festive
evening will feature an elegant dinner, entertainment,
and silent and live auctions all geared to get
attendees into the holiday mood while supporting
the important work of the Foundation.
Lonnie
Quinn, a reporter with WCBS-TV, will serve as
master of ceremonies. Quinn, a former actor, once
had a role in the ABC daytime drama "All
My Children."
LaLa Brooks, original lead singer
of the Crystals, will give a special performance
at the gala. Brooks is known for her hits, “Da
Doo Run, Run,” and “Then he Kissed
Me.” She also sang the song “Aquarius”
in the musical “Hair.”
Among the live auction items available
are a rare signed Fender Mustang guitar signed
by Steven Van Zandt, a member of Bruce Springsteen’s
band and the founder of Southside Johnny and the
Asbury Jukes. Another item sure to attract attention
is a golf flag used in the 2006 PGA Master’s
tournament signed by 2006 champion Phil Mickelson.
