Things You Should Know

Why Are We Here?

Ignorance is not bliss when dealing with scleroderma! For most of us when we became ill, there was little or no real information that we could explore to ease our anxiety or educate ourselves. We had never heard of scleroderma and there were few in the medical community who knew much about it or how to treat us. Most of us felt scared, isolated, and totally in the dark.

Who Are We?

We are men and women who happen to have scleroderma and live in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. Thousands of people live with scleroderma. Most of us, perhaps just like you, have found the world of scleroderma to be strange, and at times, scary. We have a vast array of medical problems due to scleroderma, and varying degrees of life experience dealing with those problems. Some of us are new to this world; others have been living with scleroderma in one form or another for 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, and yes, even 50 years or more. We are here for each other and for you.
