The Scleroderma Foundation, Inc., Southeast Florida Chapter, was founded in February 1989. The first meeting consisted of a few people and was held in a private home.
The disease was virtually unknown, and it was difficult to find reading material or to find physicians who knew about this awful disease.
The Southeast Florida Chapter has grown to over 400 members, many of whom actively participate in our support groups, symposium and fundraising events.
Our mission is to help educate our patients and the community about scleroderma. We provide support for the patients and their families on a daily basis. Through these efforts we hope to bring awareness of this disease to the local South Florida community.
