2nd Annual Central Oregon Education Conference in Bend Highlighted by Keynote Speaker

Noted scleroderma specialist Daniel E. Furst (seated far right) of the UCLA Medical Center delivered the keynote presentation at the Central Oregon Education Conference on Sept. 17 in Bend hosted by the St. Charles Medical Center. Dr. Furst spoke at the free event about scleroderma affecting lungs, kidneys, esophagus, heart, skin, and the gastrointestinal tract. He explained testing procedures for each of these areas, and what health care professionals look for so they know what types of treatments to recommend. Other conference speakers included Elaine Furst R.N. (far left) and Dr. Greg Borstad MD (center).

make contact with each other through Chapters,
Newsletters, and Workshops;
To EDUCATE and INFORM the public about scleroderma,
its meaning, and its consequences through a central
base; to ENCOURAGE more awareness within the medical
profession;
To PROMOTE medical research toward finding a
cause and cure;
