Second Annual “Walk, Talk & Rock”
To Cure Scleroderma To Be June 27, 2010
At New Location – Plymouth (MA) Memorial State Park

The Second Annual “Walk–Talk & Rock” To Cure Scleroderma will be held in Plymouth, MA, rain or shine on Sunday, June 27, at a new location. Due to construction work being done at the site of last year’s walk (Nelson Beach), this year’s Walk has been moved to the Plymouth Memorial State Park on Water Street in the area adjacent to the Plymouth Rock Memorial.

Sign-in begins at 10 a.m., and the Walk steps-off at 12 noon. There is no registration fee, and there is no minimum pledge requirement.

Because of the limited available parking at the park, arrangements have been made to provide parking in the Nathaniel Morton School, a short distance from Memorial Park. Entrance to the lot is off Bradford Street, Plymouth.

In the event of rain, parking and the Walk sign-in will take place at: Harborview Place, 225 Water Street, Plymouth.

The Walk route will be the reverse of last year’s, going through Plymouth Center, down toward Nelson Beach, then along the waterfront passing the Mayflower replica and the Plymouth Rock Monument before ending back at the park. Again, this year’s participants will:

WALK  . . . to find a cure for scleroderma.
TALK  . . . amongst friends and family to increase awareness.
ROCK . . . and roll to music.

To assist walkers in signing-up sponsors, SFNE is arranging with FirstGiving to provide individualized online pledging pages for each interested participant. Walkers and other supporters can set up their own personalized fundraising page by selecting the “Register Online” button to the left in order to get to FirstGiving. Walkers can e-mail the link to their personalized page to potential sponsors they know locally and throughout the world. The link can also be incorporated into social networking pages.

Individuals mailing in their registration form by June 11, along with walkers registering on-line and those setting up FirstGiving pages, will receive a free Walk T-shirt. Those registering on Walk Day, June 27, will be asked to consider making a $10 donation for a T-shirt while supplies last.
