Inaugural “Walk, Talk & Rock”
To Cure Scleroderma
Scheduled for June 28, 2009

Join in the fun of the Inaugural  “Walk–Talk & Rock” To Cure Scleroderma from the Nelson Street Playground and Beach in Plymouth, MA, Sunday, June 28, rain or shine.

WALK  . . . to find a cure for scleroderma.

TALK  . . . amongst friends and family to increase awareness.

ROCK . . . and roll on the beach with a live band and summer fun in the sun, in the hometown of Plymouth Rock!

This new Walk-A-Thon will highlight June as Scleroderma Awareness Month, and provide fun and entertainment for all... while raising donations for research to find a cure and for underwriting the programs of the Scleroderma Foundation New England (SFNE).

Sign-in will start at 10 a.m., and the Walk steps off at noon. The 4-K Walk will loop through downtown Plymouth, pass in front of historic Plymouth Rock and the replica of the Mayflower, before following the waterfront back to the Nelson Street starting point where there will be refreshments and the beach available to all attending. Adding to the festivities of the day will be the live band, a clown and a face painter.

To assist walkers in signing-up sponsors, SFNE has arranged with Firstgiving to provide individualized online pledging pages for each interested participant. Walkers and other interested supporters can set up their own personalized fundraising page by selecting the “Register Online” button to the left. Walkers can e-mail the link to their personalized page to potential sponsors they know locally and throughout the world. The link can also be incorporated into social networking pages. In addition, sheets can be printed out by choosing the “Sponsor Sheet” button to the left.

Registration

Walkers can also register for the Walk by mail or in person on June 28 by printing out a “Registration Form” button to the left. There is no registration fee. It is requested that mailed registration forms be returned to the SFNE Office (462 Boston Street, Suite 1-1, Topsfield, MA 01983) before June 19 to ease the sign-in process on Walk Day. Walkers registering by June 19 will receive a free T-shirt, as will walkers signed up for a Firstgiving page.

Registration forms and pledge sheets will also be accepted on Walk Day, June 28, and individuals will be asked to consider making a $10 donation for the T-shirt.
