Second Annual Vermont Walk-A-Thon To Cure Scleroderma Is September 7, 2008
The Second Annual Vermont Walk-A-Thon To Cure Scleroderma will take place rain or shine at Oakledge Park in Burlington, Vermont, on Sunday, September 7.
Come and enjoy the early fall foliage of northern Vermont. All are welcome to participate.
The walk is being organized by Burlington Vermont Support Group of the Scleroderma Foundation New England Chapter (SFNE).
Sign-in will take place at the Park entrance—2 Flynn Avenue, Burlington—starting at 10 a.m. where pledges will be turned in and T-shirts distributed.
The Walk steps off at 11 a.m. The 5-K route will take walkers down the Burlington Bike Path, along the shores of Lake Champlain and then back to the registration area for refreshments.
It is requested that completed registration forms be returned to the SFNE Office (462 Boston Street, Suite 1-1, Topsfield, MA 01983) before August 29 to ease the sign-in process on Walk Day. Registration forms and pledge sheets can be printed from this web page by selecting the appropriate link to the left.
To assist walkers in signing-up sponsors, the SFNE has arranged with Firstgiving to provide individualized on-line pledging pages. Walkers can set up their own secure page by selecting the Register Online link to the left. Walkers can e-mail the link to their page to potential sponsors they know throughout the world.
Last year’s Vermont Walk-A-Thon To Cure Scleroderma raised more than $6,500, which helped make it possible for the New England Chapter to give $150,000 to the Scleroderma Foundation in 2007, specifically for its National Research Program to help find the cause of and the cure for scleroderma.
If you have a question about the Walk, you can e-mail tcurran@sfnewengland.org, or you can call the SFNE Office toll-free at 888-525-0658. |
