Debra is an attorney who has been practicing law for over 15 years. She is currently an attorney at Blustin & Associates, PLLC in Minneapolis, MN practicing in the areas of real estate, mergers & acquisitions, business and corporate law, employment law, estate planning, probate and guardianships/conservatorships.
She grew up on a farm in Nebraska and moved to Minnesota in 1992. Debra became a member of the Board of Directors of the Scleroderma Foundation –Minnesota Chapter in 1998, after her sister had been diagnosed with scleroderma and after she represented a Minnesota woman, who had scleroderma, in a battle with a large insurance company to obtain long-term disability benefits when the woman became unable to work due to of a combination of M.S. and this disease.
Besides her membership on the Board of Directors, Debra has been active in educating scleroderma patients in ways to communicate better with their physicians in order to better document the progression of their disease to help obtain disability benefits. She has written several articles which have been published in The Link and republished in the M.S. and Lupus organization newsletters. |
