March 29, 2008:
Kids of the Chapter Have Tons of Fun at Pistons Game While Raising Awareness and Funds!

On Saturday, March 29, approximately thirty Chapter supporters visited the Palace of Auburn Hills for a sold-out, high-energy Detroit Pistons game to help raise awareness and funds for our mission.

Supporters with children were particularly excited to be able to give their kids a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with Pistons players as they formed a fan tunnel at the beginning of the game to welcome players on to the court.

Rasheed Wallace, one of the team’s starters with a truly electric personality, was especially enthusiastic with our kids as he ducked down to eye-level with the kids giving them a big smile and high-fives as he made his way through the tunnel.

We are happy to report that the Pistons won handily over the Cleveland Cavaliers with a final score of 85-71.

We extend a special thank you to Sharon and Carl Noechel, Ilene Ringle and John Michalski who manned a concourse table available during the game for all attendees to visit to learn more about scleroderma and our cause.

Importantly, we extend a HUGE thank you to Ms. Carley Knox with the Detroit Pistons and the Detroit Shock. Carley has been an extraordinary partner to our Chapter in coordination of our participation in Pistons and Shock games, in financial support and in donation of memorabilia for our event auctions.

Our Chapter thanks each and every person who purchased a ticket and enjoyed the game with us – thank you so much for your support!

The Scleroderma Foundation MI Chapter looks forward to continuing our partnership with the Detroit Pistons and the Detroit Shock next season. Stay tuned for details on our website and in our future correspondence!
