Scleroderma Research and Awareness Bill

On Thursday, March 25th Executive Director Laura Dyas, Nancy Adams, Judy Nichols, Veronica Greason, Linda Miller and Effie Blackman all meet with Ryan Tarrant, the Director of External Affairs for Congressman Dave Camp, (R-4) Midland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming Scleroderma Research and Awareness Bill that will be introduced into Congress by Congresswomen Lois Capps in the near future.

The bill will expand the research and awareness activities of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention with respect to scleroderma, and for the other purposes. If adopted $35 million would be appropriated in fiscal year 2010, $30 million in fiscal year 2011, and $35 million in fiscal year 2012.

Congressional visits will be made throughout the state to encourage all members to support this important Bill.  For more information you can contact Laura Dyas at (248) 865-7259.
