Jon Nelson

Jon Nelson Completes Illinois 1/2 Marathon on April 11 as a "Scleroderma Strider" and Raises $1145 for the Scleroderma Foundation

It was a beautiful sunny (chilly) day on April 11th for the Illinois Half Marathon. Johnathan's family was in attendance and all had on turquoise "Scleroderma Striders" t-shirts. We also had gorgeous signs to encourage Jon and for community awareness. We definitely were getting the word out for scleroderma.

Joh completed the half marathon in less than 2 hours and ended up at the finish line in the football stadium at the University of Illinois - and it was awesome! Just seeing him running into that huge stadium with that turquoise tshirt as a "scleroderma strider" was more than words can describe!

It was a very successful run not Illinois Half Marathononly for his family, but for all of the other scleroderma patients and their families, and also the doctors and medical professionals, and for the Scleroderma Foundation which is out there to help all of us!

Jon raised $1145, which was well over his goal of $500. We so proud of him and for taking on this cause of "Scleroderma Striders - Running for a Cure."
