The SCOT trial, a randomized clinical trial for individuals with diffuse scleroderma and internal organ involvement, continues to actively enroll patients with severe systemic sclerosis.  Patient recruitment for SCOT will close on March 31, 2011.

A Patient Experiences DVD details the experiences of scleroderma patients in their own words.  The video and additional study material can be found at the SCOT study website:  http://www.sclerodermatrial.org

Built upon the clinical platform provided by the SCOT trial, the NIH is supporting a number of ongoing basic and clinical investigations into the  biology of systemic sclerosis and response to immunomodulation. Already we have assembled a robust dataset of clinical samples, baseline screening and pre randomization data for publication.  The investigators and steering committee thank the scleroderma community, both patients and providers you for their collaboration and support.
