Peter Parthenis

Peter Parthenis joined the Scleroderma Foundation Board of Directors in 1993, and served as its chair from 1997–1999.

Born in Greece, Peter came to Chicago in the 1960s, and earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Educated as an engineer, Peter soon found that he had an entrepreneurial spirit and in 1975 became president and CEO of Grecian Delight Foods, a food manufacturing facility with employees and distributors in both the United States and Canada. In 1990, Peter founded Permacor Corp, an electronics manufacturer, a company he presently owns.

Though he moved to Chicago more than 40 years ago, Peter still has close ties to his Greek roots. He is a board member of the United Hellenic American Congress, Hellenic Link – Midwest, Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center, Foundation of Hellenic Studies, Greek American Chamber of Commerce/UHAC Chicago, and Federation of Sterea Hallas.

Peter also advises, at no charge, young entrepreneurs on how to go into business and serves as a member of Vistage, an organization dedicated to self-development in management of people and companies.
