David B. Parker is a founding partner of Parker Mills & Patel LLP in Los Angeles, where his trial practice includes commercial litigation, the defense and prosecution of legal malpractice and malicious prosecution cases, disputes between and among lawyers or law firms, insurance coverage and bad faith. He has served as an expert witness in legal malpractice cases in state and federal courts involving standard of care issues in litigation and insurance matters, as well as standards of conduct, including conflicts of interest. Mr. Parker has authored and co-authored numerous publications and is a frequent speaker and consultant on the subjects of professional liability and insurance coverage, including directors and officers insurance. Mr. Parker is the past chair of both the Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee and the Errors and Omission Prevention Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as a former member of the Liability Insurance Committee. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and is also a member of the Lawyers Professional Liability Bar Association and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. Mr. Parker is a 1976 graduate of UCLA Law School where he was awarded Order of the Coif and served as Associate Editor of the "Law Review." He has served United Scleroderma Foundation and the Scleroderma Foundation with distinction for nearly 20 years. Starting as a board member with United Scleroderma Foundation in 1987 he served as president and vice president through 1996, moving on to the Advisory Board where he served until the merger with Scleroderma Foundation. Mr. Parker has been the board secretary since 1999 and continues to serve in that capacity with devotion and excellence. |
