Helpful Hints

When posting to the message board, please keep the following in mind:

• You do not have to provide your email address or real name in your post
• Do not share personal contact information on initial contact. If you feel uncomfortable because someone is insisting on personal information, it may be wise to end all contact with this individual
• Never share your social security or other secure personal information with another
• Do not provide your credit card information to anyone who contacts you selling a “cure” or “treatment” for scleroderma or a related condition. Advertising or promotions of products and other websites are not allowed. Please do this offline. Please report these posts.
• Do not provide your credit card information to anyone who contacts you and solicits this information for any reason. Please note that the Scleroderma Foundation will never contact you and ask for your credit card information. If you receive such a contact, please notify the Scleroderma Foundation immediately
• Do not follow any suggested medical treatment without consulting your physician
• Do not solicit medical advice from anyone but your physician
• Obscene or offensive material or messages are not allowed. If you see such a post and would like to take action, please contact webmaster@scleroderma.org, or see the following list of options
• Do not communicate to others your vacation schedule or let them know when you will be absent for an extended period
• Although the majority of users will represent themselves honestly, some may not. If you are suspicious of a post, please ignore it
